In this project, images and stories derive from a single object — Croma, a green vase. This rounded vase gains through its chromatic characteristics the function of a chroma-key (green screen), with the potential of all possible stories being projected onto it, just as it can camouflage itself in any of them. In Croma, o sono, we witness a dream that guides us through the political dimensions of community living; a blurry dream that takes place in the dark of night, between nature’s metamorphoses, kaleidoscopic visions, shadowy figures, and celebrations of life destroyed by the fatalism inherent to a world driven by future profit. In this dream, a group of four people interact in different settings, revisiting memories and states of mind. Present, a shadowy figure holds a chromed representation of a Board of Directors, reminding us, ironically, that however much we try to undermine it, profit is always present, from our first yawn of the morning to our last as we go to bed. The exhibition is presented across Sala-Filme and the foyers at Batalha Centro de Cinema, starting with a short story by the artist, outlining the beginning of this narrative.
